Assessment and Credit
toward Certification

Those seeking credit toward certification in the Catechetical School of the Archdiocese of Denver (or for another diocese) must successfully complete the course work.

Seventy-five percent of the assessment will be based on participation in the course forum (a threaded, asynchronous discussion of weekly questions based upon the course outline, required reading, and audio instruction.) Twenty-five percent of the assessment will be based on the weekly quizzes. Those taking the class on a non-credit basis are expected to actively participate in the weekly forum discussions, but the quizzes will be optional.

The scoring results of the assessments will be “Credit” (Pass) or “Retake” (Fail). Retake or alternate assessments are to be arranged with the instructor. If a student foresees a conflict in schedule or other matter bearing on participation and assessment, he or she should notify the instructor as soon as possible to make alternate arrangements.
