Pope's visit to Mexico and Cuba reminds us how precious religious freedom is

March 21, 2012 - This Friday, Pope Benedict XVI travels to Guanajuato, Mexico and then to the Republic of Cuba, to pray and worship with millions of Mexican and Cuban Catholics. Both Cuba and Mexico have long and rich histories of Catholic evangelization and identity. Both countries have known persecution. With 52 percent of Catholics in northern Colorado hailing Latino heritage, this visit can be a moment of celebration and encouragement.
