The Respect Life Office, on behalf of the Archdiocese of Denver of Northern Colorado, affirms that human life is a gift from God to be protected from the moment of conception until natural death. The Respect Life Office in keeping with the "Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activities: A Reaffirmation" from the National Conference of Catholic Bishops (1985), pursues this mission in the following areas: education; pastoral care and outreach; public information and public policy formulation and awareness.

The office deals with a wide range of life issues, such as abortion, euthanasia, sexuality, infertility procedures and the death penalty.

We recently started an e-mail network through which we send out timely information on pro-life issues and concerns. Project Rachel

Many people, women and men alike, suffer trauma following involvement in an abortion. It can manifest itself in many ways, including guilt, anxiety, depression, anniversary reactions and broken relationships.

Project Rachel, a program developed by the Catholic Church, can help you find peace. Project Rachel is founded on the premise that post-abortive parents have a right to grieve the loss of their child and work through their feelings of regret and guilt. We have priests and pastoral ministers who do understand the torment you have been experiencing. They are here to listen to you and to help you.

Project Rachel reinforces the Catholic Church's teachings on forgiveness and helps post-abortive parents return to full communion with Christ and His Church.

For more information on Project Rachel, call 1-800-713-3021 or write us at the address noted above, Attn: Project Rachel. Confidentially respected.

Gabriel Project

Our office is implementing the Gabriel Project in the Archdiocese of Denver. The Gabriel Project is a parish-based outreach program that supports pregnant women. Each woman is assigned an angel to help them during and after her pregnancy.

If you know of anyone who might benefit from participating in the Gabriel Project, please contact Mimi Eckstein at 303 715-3205 or 1-800-713-3021.

Intercessors for Life (IFL)

The purpose of Intercessors for Life (IFL) is to heed our Savior's admonition that certain evils can be expelled only by prayer and fasting. IFL will create a constant network of prayer and fasting to inspire and sustain all efforts to restore a"culture of life" and to hear anyone affected by these attacks. IFL simply asks you to make a commitment each week to pray and fast that the "culture of death" be expelled from our culture. We ask that you include in your prayers the Respect Life work of the Archdiocese of Denver. In particular, Project Rachel, the post-abortion ministry, and the Gabriel Project, a ministry that supports pregnant mothers and families. Pray that all who do Respect Life work for the Archdiocese of Denver in Northern Colorado are guided by the Holy Spirit and possess wisdom, courage, compassion and hope.
