Mission Statement
Northern Catholic Education Services (Longmont) is a regional arm of the Archdiocesan Secretariat of Evangelization and Catechesis. Our mission is to share in and provide leadership and direction for the ministry of evangelization and catechesis within the Archdiocese of Denver with particular emphasis on serving parishes within the northern deaneries (Boulder, Fort Collins, Greeley) and the eastern plains deanery. The regional office in provides resources, advocacy, leadership and vision for the ministry of evangelization and catechesis by serving the pastor, as chief catechist, and his designated catechetical leaders within parishes.

Who We Serve
We provide catechetical support to northern area and northeast plains parishes, typically via the parish catechetical leaders and catechists. We work with pastors, DREs and coordinators and other designated catechetical leaders in the 40 parishes and missions that lie between Brighton, Lafayette & Louisville (on the south) to Fort Collins (on the north) and between Nederland, Estes Park and Boulder (on the west) to Julesburg, Holyoke and Wray (on the east).

What We Offer to Parishes
As an Archdiocesan evangelization and catechetical resource off ce we offer a wide variety of services. We assist parishes with programming needs, DRE leadership training and development, catechist training and enrichment progams, evaluation of parish programming, textbook selection, etc. We regularly gather area catechetical leaders together in various regions for ongoing inservice, prayer and support. We assist DREs, catechists, small community leaders, RCIA coordinators and pastors who drop by the of rice from Boulder, Greeley, Fort Collins or the Loveland/Longmont area. We offer on-site services at area parishes. We mail media and other resourses to parishes too distant to drop by the office (supporting catechists in parishes such as Sterling, Peetz, Julesburg, Yuma or Wray). We also serve as a link between northern eastern area parishes and other services and offices of the archdiocese. Some of our regular ongoing program offerings to area parishes are:

• Media and Resource Center, Longmont
• Catechist Training Workshops
• Northern Area Deanery Catechetical Leader meetings/inservice
• Northeast Plains Deanery Catechetical Leader meetings/inservices
• Orientation and training for new parish DREs/Coordinators
• Assistance with parish Catechetical personnel search
• Design of various catechechetical programs as requested
• Family faith formation resources
• Catechetical assistance for new pastors/parish catechetical leaders.
  
  

Staff
The staff at the Northern Area/Northeast Plains office is Don Schneider (Archdiocesan Regional Coordinator) and Sr. Mary Regis Leahy, RSM (Media Center Coordinator). Sr. Regis works part-time (10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., M-F) in the Media Center.
