Exorcism & The Church Militant - NEWS
7 a.m. 730 South Restaurant, Denver, CO CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD AN EVENT FLIER. The Catholic Business and Professional Alliance has recently started hosting a monthly Prayer Breakfast. Currently, this prayer breakfast is held on the first Friday of every month, but this will move to the first Thursday of the month beginning in October. The speaker for September's First Friday Breakfast will be Fr. Tom Euteneuer, the president of Human Life International, and also a practicing exorcist. The title of his talk will be "Exorcism and the Church Militant." Please note that Fr. Tom is a priest in good standing with the Church. He is also a seminary classmate of Msgr. Annual Blue Mass with Bishop Conley - LITURGY
4:30 p.m. Cathedral Basilica, Denver, CO The Annual Blue Mass to honor law enforcement, fire fighters, and emergency services personnel is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. Mass will begin at 4:30 p.m. The Cathedral Basilica is located at 1530 Logan Street in Denver. Bishop James D. Conley, S.T.L., Auxiliary Bishop of Denver, will be the principal celebrant. Clergy that serve several metro agencies as police chaplains will concelebrate. CONCERT: Eric Genuis - COMMUNICATIONS
7:30 p.m. St. Thomas More Church, Centennial Eric Genuis, a Catholic and resident of Colorado, is a composer, virtuoso pianist and captivating performer. Since 1997, he has been performing his works throughout the world in countries including the United States, Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Germany, and Poland. Having recently recorded with the famed Maestro Allan Wilson of London, England and the Slovak National Symphony Orchestra, he is currently touring the United States with an ensemble of world class musicians. Genuis will be performing one of his must-see concerts at St. Thomas More Church of Centennial, in honor of the Year for Priests. The concert is free and open to the public. “The aim of the concert,” says Genuis, “is to celebrate, encourage and lift up the priesthood.” Performing with Genuis will be vocalist Linda Easter and violinist Liesel Schoenberger. LECTURE: The Financial Crisis & Moral Dimensions - NEWS
7 p.m. CU Boulder, Old Main Building In this environment, the need for morals and ethics in the marketplace and the free market system has never been more important. Come hear the role that a return to virtue would play in leading the economy for- ward in these unprec- edented times. Presenter Rev. Robert Sirico will present "The Financial Crisis and Moral Dimensions of Economics." As president of the Acton Institute, Fr. Sirico lectures at colleges, universities, and business organizations throughout the U.S. and abroad. His writings on religious, political, economic, and social matters are published in a variety of journals, including: the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, the London Financial Times, the Washington Times, the Detroit News, and National Review. Father Sirico is often called upon by members of the broadcast media for statements regarding economics, civil rights, and issues of religious concern, and has provided com- mentary for CNN, ABC, the BBC, NPR, and CBS' 60 Minutes, among others.
