Mountain Madness Jr. High Youth Conference - YOUTH & YOUNG ADULT
YMCA of the Rockies, Estes Park
Every year 500+ junior high students (6-8th grade) gather to encounter God through a “mountain-top” experience. This year the keynote speaker is Chris Padgett. The high energy speakers, dynamic worship, fellowship and adoration help ignite a passion for Jesus in your young people that encourages them to live their faith in every day life. Classical sacred music solo - LITURGY
7 p.m. St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Denver St. Vincent de Paul Parish, a Catholic church near the University of Denver, will be hosting a recital of classical sacred music performed by one of their church's cantors, Kathleen Schmidt, and accompanied on piano and organ by music director Melissa Weidner. The recital will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Church at 2375 E. Arizona Avenue in Denver at 7:00 pm on Friday, February 12th. This recital is free and open to the public, but donations to the church's music ministry are welcome. This recital marks the closing of an art exhibition with work by Kathleen Schmidt that has been on display at the church since mid-December. Artwork may be purchased before or after the recital, and all proceeds from the recital and the sale of artwork will benefit the music ministry at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Theology on Tap: Faith, Finance & Family - YOUTH & YOUNG ADULT
8 p.m. Braun's Bar & Grill, Denver Steve is recently retired from American Funds as Senior Vice President where he spent 21 years. American Funds is the Distribution Company for the Capital Group which is one of the oldest and largest money management organizations in the U.S., managing over $1.5 trillion for over 3 million investors, at the point of his departure. Steve and his wife Nancy have organized and developed parenting programs and talks in the Denver area over the past 18 years. They have 6 children, ages 21 to 32 and have 2 grand children. Theology on Tap is a great opportunity for young adults to meet in a comfortable setting, explore their Faith and learn about the everyday ways it affects their lives. Every Theology on Tap offers a chance to learn more about an engaging topic and to experience fellowship with a room full of young adults — all over a frosty mug and a good burger. Theology on Tap was started in 1981 in Chicago and has spread around the world. In the Archdiocese of Denver, there are two Theology on Tap Locations – one in Denver and one in Fort Collins, CO.
