National Vocations Awareness Week
Location:
Date: 1/9/2012
Time: All week
The feast of the Baptism of our Lord on Monday, January 9, begins the observance of National Vocations Awareness Week which continues through Saturday, January 12. Visit http://foryourvocation.org/ for more information.
SAMPLE BULLETIN ANNOUNCEMENT:
On the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, we begin National Vocation Awareness Week (Jan. 9-14). We all are encouraged to renew our baptismal commitments this week. As we again dedicate ourselves to the Lord and his plan for our lives, we may recognize a call to serve him as a priest, deacon, or consecrated man or woman. Respond generously. For those already established in their vocation, pray for those open to a vocation to Holy Orders or Consecrated Life. For more information about discerning a vocation, or to speak with someone about this process, contact the Denver's Vocation Office at 303-282-3429 or www.Priest4Christ.com.
PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS:
Loving Father, You call us through Baptism to continue the mission of your son Jesus. Open our ears to hear your call. Open our hearts to receive your love. And open our lives that we may serve generously. Inspire many women and men to live lives of sacrifice and service. May your Church be a vibrant sign of your presence in the world. We ask all this through your son our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.
