The Arab Spring Reconsidered: A Question of Freedom
Location: University of Denver
Date: 5/8/2012
Time: 6:30pm
The panelists include our friend Prof. Wael Farouq (a professor of Islamic Studies in Cairo, Egypt), who witnessed the Egyptian revolution first hand; DU professor Dr. Nader Hashemi (Korbel School of International Studies, expert on the Middle East), and our friend Dr. Damian Bacich (professor of World Languages and Studies, San Jose State), who will moderate.
In addition to the discussion of the meaning of the Arab Spring and the events of Egypt in January, 2011, we are specifically concerned with the quest for human freedom, the role of politics in society and the freedom of religion. It will be followed by a Q&A session!
