On Nov. 6, during a Mass at Redemptoris Mater Archdiocesan Missionary Seminary, Archbishop Samuel J. Aquila installed two seminarians to the ministry of acolyte and one to the ministry of lector as steps in their priesthood formation. Seminarian Fernando Londono, 28, was installed as a lector, permitting him to proclaim the Scriptures at Mass. Instituted as acolytes, whose function is to assist the deacon or priest with the details of preparation of the altar and sacred vessels, were Eider Giraldo, 27, and Franklin Sequeira, 32. Above: Archbishop Samuel Aquila prays over seminarians Franklin Sequeira, foreground, and Eider Giraldo. Standing at far right in black clerics, seminarian Fernando Londono looks on.
