Annual White Mass to support health care workers
Bishop James Conley will celebrate the annual White Mass for the intentions of physicians, nurses, dentists, technicians and all those who work in the health care profession on Oct. 20 at the Church of the Risen Christ, 3060 S. Monaco Pkwy, Denver.
All are welcome at the 8:30 a.m. Mass, including anyone who wishes to support the intentions of Catholic health care workers and to pray for the freedom to make medical decisions which respect human life from conception to natural death.
The White Mass is affiliated with the Catholic Medical Association, which has members and guilds located around the country. In 2008, Archbishop Charles Chaput encouraged the founding of a guild in Denver. He appointed Bishop Conley, who is an ardent and well known supporter of respect life causes, to be the guild’s episcopal liaiason.
A growing number of physicians are identifying their practices as following Catholic teachings on abortion, sterilization, human sexuality and other respect life issues. For information on how to find local Catholic doctors, see the accompanying box for contact information on the Denver Guild and the Catholic Medical Association.
