Colorado-based online marriage prep to be featured on EWTN’s ‘Life on the Rock’
Two Denver couples will appear on a live TV show Oct. 11 to talk about their marriage preparation experience through the online Catholic Marriage Prep ministry.
Partners in the online ministry, Moses and Mattie Nelson, will appear on EWTN’s “Life on the Rock” 8 p.m. Oct. 11 to discuss with TV hosts the impact of the online course on their faith and marriage.
The couple, married for 10 years with five children, work for the ministry that is dedicated to helping couples build strong Christ-centered marriages.
Mattie Nelson’s parents, Christian and Christine Meert, founded the ministry in 1999 when they began to teach couples a program anchored on Blessed Pope John Paul II’s theology of the body. Christian Meert, president of the ministry, is also the director of the Office of Marriage and Family Life for the Colorado Springs Diocese. The Meerts moved to Colorado from France in 1999 and have five daughters.
During the one-hour show, the Nelsons will be joined by Paul and Sarah O’Brien who also completed the online program. Paul O’Brien is the director of information technology at Nativity of Our Lord Parish in Broomfield and Sarah is a veteran consultant for FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students). They married in 2009 and have two daughters.
More information about the couples and their appearance is found on the ministry’s blog “Not the Destination” at notdestination.blogspot.com. The show will air on Comcast Channel 233, DirecTV Channel 370 and DISH Network Channel 261. It will also be available for viewing online at www.ewtn.com/tv/live/lifeontherock.asp.
