The Year of Faith Pope Benedict XVI has called for a Year of Faith to start tomorrow, Oct. 11, and run through Nov. 24, 2013. During this observance the Denver Catholic Register will run a series of Year of Faith catechetical boxes, which will replace “The Saints” box. This week’s box explains the Year of Faith logo. The Year of Faith logo depicts a boat, symbolizing the Church, sailing on waves. The main mast of the boat is a cross from which sails are displayed in the form of dynamic signs, which compose the trigram of Christ (IHS). The background to the sails is a sun which, associated with the trigram, refers also to the Eucharist.
