Saints at St. Therese St. Therese School students spent last week learning about saints. "Every student studied a different saint—with no duplicates," said Laura Dement, principal of the Aurora Catholic school. "That comprises almost 200 saints being brought into their learning." The week's study culminated with the students participating in a parish Mass Nov. 1. Students processed into the Mass holding signs depicting saints while singing, "When the Saints Go Marching In." Preschool through eighth-grade students participated in the Mass in a variety of ways, including serving as lectors and presenting the offertory gifts. Dement led songs to commemorate the saints and the faithful souls who have departed. Mass was celebrated by paroquial vicar Father Alvaro Panqueva. |
