In remembrance of the 45th anniversary of legalized abortion in Colorado, Catholic faithful, clerics and religious gathered April 25 for a prayer vigil outside the state Capitol downtown.
“We’ve decided to make this a day of mourning,” said Father Bill Carmody of St. Dominic Parish in Colorado Springs.
Memorial crosses were laid outside, prayers were said and people gave personal testimonies about healing from abortion. Colorado became the first state to legalize abortion when former Gov. John Love signed it into law in 1967.
