The Colorado Knights of Columbus received a $5,000 donation for their ultrasound program after a woman was inspired by Denver Broncos’ quarterback Tim Tebow’s performance.

Watching Tebow’s comeback against the Chicago Bears Dec. 11 at Sports Authority Field at Mile High inspired Christine Beiriger to make a donation to the Colorado State Council’s ultrasound program that helps provide women considering abortion the technology to see the baby in their womb.
“We all know that Tim’s mother was advised to abort him due to an illness she had while she was pregnant, but she chose not to,” Beiriger said in a statement.
Rather, Pam Tebow “put her trust in God, and as a result, brought into the world one of the finest human beings ever to play the game, and one who is a role model and inspiration to multitudes.”
Beiriger said she hopes women will choose life over abortion through the Knights’ program that places ultrasound machines in crisis pregnancy centers. These machines create sonograms, or pictures of a baby in a woman’s uterus.
Beiriger also donated $10,000 in 2010, said her father, Mike Beiriger, who is the state chairman of the program.
He initiated the idea in Colorado that same year and has since purchased four ultrasound machines used at pregnancy centers in the state.
The costly machines are reported to influence 85 percent to 90 percent of women to give birth rather than abort their child, Mike Beiriger said.
“In the vast majority of cases, there’s a dramatic change of heart,” he said.
