Special high school hoops
Two archdiocesan high schools are rallying to bring support for Catholic education by inviting students and family to two basketball games next month.
All are invited to attend what is anticipated to be a nail-biting game between Holy Family High School and Bishop Machebeuf High School’s boys varsity teams at Machebeuf’s gymnasium 7 p.m. Feb. 3. Machebeuf is also opening its varsity girl’s basketball game against Lutheran High School 7 p.m. Feb. 2.
The games are a way to celebrate Catholic Schools Week from Jan. 29 to Feb. 3.
All kindergarten through eighth-grade archdiocesan students who wear their school uniforms will get free admission to the games. The teams will compete in the gym at 458 Uinta Way in Denver.
Many schools including Machebeuf are hosting open houses for prospective parents and their children during Catholic Schools Week. Tours may be made at Machebeuf from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 31 through Feb. 2.
For more information about the basketball games, call 303-344-0082 ext. 117 or email meverhart@machebeuf.org.
