On Nov. 8, during an evening Mass, Bishop James D. Conley, apostolic administrator for the Denver Archdiocese, instituted three seminarians of the archdiocese’s Redemptoris Mater Archdiocesan Missionary Seminary to special ministries.
Instituted as acolytes, which enables them to assist the priest and deacon at Mass, were William Clemence and Warli de Araujo, both native Brazilians. Instituted to the ministry of lector, which enables him to proclaim the Scriptures at Mass, was Jose Sabas Cortez Serrano, who hails from El Salvador.
The men of Redemptoris Mater come from parish-based Neocatechumenal Way communities across the globe and are in formation to serve as priests for the Denver Archdiocese. They also receive missionary training and may be sent anywhere in the world.
