Centro to offer free Senior Health Fair Oct. 9

Adults 50 and older are invited to the Latino Senior Health Fair at Centro San Juan Diego from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Oct. 9.
The health fair will provide free and low-cost health screening and services for Spanish-speaking seniors including flu shots, blood pressure and weight checks, and lab work including complete blood count, vitamin D and cholesterol level checks, and diabetes testing.
For men, health-care professionals will offer prostate exams—through the Urology Center of Colorado—to check for prostate cancer and enlarged prostate; and blood tests for prostate cancer and testosterone levels.
Following last year’s inaugural fair, several individuals were referred for treatment following diagnoses of serious urologic conditions.
Some additional sponsors for this year’s fair include AARP, Visiting Nurse Association, St. Anthony Hospital, Denver Health, and National Association of Hispanic Nurses.
