Seeds of Hope hosted the 15th annual Golf for Hope tournament Aug. 29 at Glenmoor Country Club. More than 115 golfers participated in this tournament that benefited the tuition assistance program of Seeds of Hope Charitable Trust, which works to give Denver’s inner-city children the opportunity to receive a safe, quality Catholic education.
The tournament was deemed a tremendous success by organizers, raising nearly $100,000 for Seeds of Hope programs and tuition assistance.
Local celebrity support for the tournament included: 9News anchor Adele Arakawa, who golfed in the tournament and served as the event’s mistress of ceremonies; former Denver Broncos great, and past Seeds of Hope Executive Director Haven Moses, who played in the tournament; former CBS4 anchor Molly Hughes, who golfed in the tournament; and former Denver Nuggets star Bill Hanzlik who participated in the post-tournament program and donated game experiences to the event’s live auction.
Marina Hoeft, a student of St. Louis School in Englewood and Seeds of Hope recipient, spoke during the event’s program.
“Thank you, golfers, for being so generous,” Hoeft said. “By supporting events like Golf for Hope, you are helping students like me receive a great Catholic education. I just love my school. Thanks for making my education possible.”
