Archbishop Chaput's Sept. 8 Installation Mass to be broadcast on Internet, TV
By Roxanne King
The event is scheduled to be broadcast on the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) on Sept 8.
It will also be live, web-streamed at http://archphila.org/.
The Mass, which will take place at the Cathedral Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul in Philadelphia, can be seen locally at noon (MDT) on Comcast Channel 233; Direct TV Channel 370; and Dish Network Channel 261. An encore broadcast will be aired at 10 p.m. Sept. 8.
On July 20, 2001, Pope Benedict XVI named Archbishop Chaput at the 13th bishop and ninth archbishop of Philadelphia. He will succeed Cardinal Justin Rigali, who is retiring.
At the press conference three weeks ago, Archbishop Chaput promised: “…no bishop will love the people and priests of this local Church (the Archdiocese of Philadelphia) more than I will. No bishop will give more of himself than I will.”
