2011 Bazaar Round Up
Part of the fun of summer is getting out and trying something new or visiting a place you never have been before. And a great suggestion might be to check out one of the many parish festivals slated for the coming months.
Entertainment, great food and fun for the whole family can be found at one of these events. Below is a list of just some of the parishes which will be hosting a festival. Why not stop by and say hello?
July 8–10, 2011
Holy Family

Holy Family Parish will hold its 34th Annual Bazaar July 8, 9 and 10 on the grounds of the church, 4380 Utica St. in Denver. This “event to remember” will give neighbors and friends the chance to participate in a cakewalk, play BINGO, face the challenge of the climbing wall or browse the country store. There will be many games for the kids as well as delicious eats including Mexican food, pizza fritta and mouth-watering sausage sandwiches. Then settle back for nightly entertainment from the Bucknotes, Los Amigos or the Dean Bushnell Band.
A limited number of 400 tickets are available for the raffle which will have three cash prizes to be given away: $10,000, $5,000 and $2,500. Tickets are priced at $100 a piece and can be purchased after all Masses, through the parish office and during the event. Festival hours will be 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. daily and more information is available by calling 303-455-1664

Our Lady of Guadalupe

Our Lady of Guadalupe’s Annual Fiesta will be held July 8, 9 and 10 at the parish, 1209 W. 36th Ave., Denver. There’ll be fun for everyone with rides, games, entertainment and amusements. Parish volunteers will be serving a variety of Mexican and Italian foods, everything from gorditas and taquitos and of course their world famous Italian sausage sandwiches. Visitors will be entertained with live music.
The fiesta bazaar will run 6 p.m. - 10p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. - 11p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. Sunday. More information is available by calling 303-477-1402

Our Lady of Mount Carmel

The annual festival at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, 3549 Navajo St. in Denver, promises to be an exciting one. Bring the entire family as they’ll have games and rides for every one, delicious food, music and lottery drawing with cash prizes of $10,000, $3,000 and $2,000. Lotto tickets are $100 each and only 400 will be sold. They can be purchased after all Masses, in the parish office or during the festival.
The Our Lady of Mount Carmel Festival will be held July 15 and 16 from 5 p.m. – 11 p.m. and July 17 from 5 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. For more information, call the parish office at 303-455-0447.

Christ the King [Evergreen]

Christ the King Parish in Evergreen will hold their annual Parish Garage Sale, offering goods from over 200 families. The sale will feature tools, toys, collectibles, furniture, housewares, sporting goods and much more. There will also be a bake sale featuring yummy munchies!

The 8th Annual Old Globeville Days and Orthodox Food Festival, presented by Holy Transfiguration of Christ Orthodox Cathedral and the Globeville Civic Association, will be held July 16 and 17 in Argo Park, 4700 Logan St., Denver. Entice yourself with food from Russia, Romania, Greece, Eritrea, Mexico and more. Check out the vendor booths, kid’s activities, music & dancing and take tours of the historic Holy Transfiguration of Christ Cathedral.

Our Lady of Grace, Denver
Delicious Mexican food will be one of the centerpieces of the annual Our Lady of Grace Church Bazaar, 2645 E. 48th Ave. in Denver, July 22, 23 and 24. Complementing the ethnic cuisine will be other summertime favorites like hamburgers, hotdogs and ice cream. They’ll be games and prizes for children, including a duck pond, pony rides and a magician will perform daily. Local bands will provide the entertainment.

St. Anthony of Padua, Denver

St. Anthony of Padua Church, 3801 W. Ohio Ave. in Denver, will host a bazaar July 29, 30 and 31. The weekend will include music hosted by a disc jockey, Mexican food and games. The festival will also include a raffle with cash prizes of $1,500, $700 and three prizes of $100 each.
Tickets, which can be purchased after Masses and at the parish office in advance of the festival, are $2 each or in books of six for $10. The always anticipated annual Parish Bazaar at the Shrine of St. Anne, 7555 Grant Place in Arvada will be held this year July 29, 30 and 31. As always, there will be game for whole family including the fishing pond and dunking booth. Come hungry as the food booths will be overstocked with all kinds of delights; cakes and pies to cupcakes and cookies. Also on the menu are sausage sandwiches, Italian cuisine, hotdogs and hamburgers. This year’s raffle will have three cash prizes: $5,000, $1,000 and $500.
Tickets are $5 each or a book of six for $25. And of course the bazaar wouldn’t be complete without the annual garage sale in the school cafeteria—everything from clothes to toys to appliances and all at bargain basement prices. St. Cajetan
Come be part of the annual treat of summer known as the Summer Bazaar at St. Cajetan’s Parish, 299 S. Raleigh St., Denver. For three days, Aug. 5, 6 and 7 parishioners will be serving up a wonderful mix of Mexican and American food. They’ll be entertainment and games for the whole family. Don’t miss out on the raffle which will have no less than five cash prizes: $2,500, $1,500, $750, $350 and $250.
Raffle tickets are $2 each or a book of six for $10 and can be purchased either after all Masses or by calling the parish office at 303-922-6306. The bazaar will be held open at 6 p.m. on Friday, 3 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. on Sunday and will go until 11 p.m. each day.

Holy Rosary
Plan now to attend the annual bazaar at Holy Rosary Parish in Denver will be held Aug. 28 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The day begins with $5 pancake breakfast. Throughout the day, ethnic food favorites including potica, kielbasa and Mexican tacos, enchiladas and tortas will be available. Pony rides, face painting and an air castle are a few of the activities for kids, while adults can enjoy music and dancers. Tours of the historic parish will be conducted from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.
