The annual Guppy Fest Youth Rally and Dance will be held on June 17 at St. Thomas More Parish in Centennial. The event for middle and high school students is a daylong celebration of speakers, presentations and skits, which will culminate with a concert given by Ceili Rain, a Celtic Christian band from Syracuse, N.Y.
The day will also include Mass celebrated by St. Thomas More pastor, Father Andrew Kemberling V.F.
According to David Tschumper, youth minister at the parish and coordinator of the event, the kids are in for a great time.
“Our keynote speaker will be Bob Halligan, lead singer/songwriter of Ceili Rain, the group who’ll be performing at Guppy Fest,” he said. “Halligan has written many songs for artists such as Cher, Michael Bolton, Kiss, Rebekah St. James and more.”
World-class weightlifter Ron Garofalo will give one of the breakout sessions.
Guppy Fest is set for 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, June 17 at St. Thomas More Parish, 8035 S. Quebec St. in Centennial. Cost for Guppy Fest is $15 and includes the concert. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m.
Participants are asked to bring a sack lunch.
