Friends and alumni of both schools are reminded to mark down on their calendar that these two football teams will be competing for the coveted Loretto Trophy when they meet for the final game of the regular season on Nov. 1 at Aurora Stadium.
The trophy, so named for the Sisters of Loretto who taught at both institutions, is awarded to the school that wins the football game between the two rivals. Holy Family has had custody of the trophy for several years, but Machebeuf promises this year’s game to be a contest not to be forgotten. The kickoff of the Nov. 1 game will be 7 p.m.
