Seeds of Hope marks 15th anniversary with gratitude event
By Julie Filby
Seeds of Hope celebrated its 15th anniversary on Feb.17 by thanking more than 150 major supporters, volunteers and friends.
In attendance at this event, held at the Governor’s Residence, were Archbishop Charles Chaput, O.F.M. Cap.; Msgr. Tom Fryar, vicar general; and Seeds of Hope recipients Marina and Chris Lucero, whose son Romeo is a third-grader at Assumption School.
“I can’t thank you all enough for giving children like my son the opportunity of a lifetime,” said Marina Lucero. “To know that there are people out there who care enough to want to help families like ours better educate our children is such a blessing.”
Seeds of Hope has served more than 12,000 students and has given in excess of $20 million in tuition assistance over the last 15 years, helping each child to achieve their potential in a Catholic school. To learn more about Seeds of Hope, visit www.seedsofhopetrust.org.
