The Redemptorists of the Denver Province have been honored with a 2010 Web Award for Outstanding Achievement in Web Development in the Faith-Based Standard of Excellence category by the Web Marketing Association.
Since 1997, the Web Marketing Association’s annual WebAward Competition has been setting the standard of excellence for website development. Independent expert judges from around the world review sites in 96 industries. The best are recognized with a WebAward which helps interactive professionals promote themselves, their companies, and their best work to the outside world. The WebAward Competition is the premier award recognition program for Web developers and marketers worldwide.
“We are extremely honored to have been recognized by this prestigious panel of experts from around the world for our website,” said Father Thomas D. Picton, C.Ss.R., provincial superior of the Denver Province. “We hope with this honor we can now encourage a larger number of young men and women interested in pursuing religious life to consider our congregation as one of their options for serving Christ here on earth.”
The Redemptorists, whose formal name is the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, are a religious congregation of Catholic priests and brothers founded by St. Alphonsus Liguori in 1732 in Naples, Italy. Presently, there are some 5,000 Redemptorists working for the poor and most abandoned in nearly every part of the world. More than 400 Redemptorist priests, brothers and seminarians represent the Denver Province in much of the United States and in Brazil, Nigeria, and Thailand.
