More on noise at Mass
One reader commented (March 31 DCR) that those present at Mass are the body of Christ and sometimes when the body is joyful or sharing greetings, the worship space is not silent. But I disagree with this notion. Christ is in that sanctuary and if we believe that the true blood and true body are present in the Mass then we should show the utmost respect for Him. Just as it was noted that there are Holy Hours and private prayers at home, so there is time outside or on your own time to greet and enjoy the company of others. While at the Mass we are there to enjoy the company of our crucified Lord. It’s gotten too lax and too much about “us” and too little about our Lord.
