Six youth achieve Eagle Scout
The Boy Scouts of America marked its 100-year anniversary on Feb. 8. The day before the youth organization’s birthday, one local parish had six boys from its troop achieve Eagle Scout.
Just 5 percent of all Boy Scouts make Eagle Scout.
The six youths from St. Thomas More Troop 770 were honored at a special Mass celebrated by Father Andrew Kemberling at the Centennial parish on Feb. 7.
Achieving Eagle rank were: Andres Martinez, son of Benny and Carolyn Martinez, Highlands Ranch; John Ininns, son of Graham and Lisa Ininns, Highlands Ranch; Thomas Harpole, son of Bill and Joan Harpole, Centennial; Jack McLaren, son of John and Julie McLaren, Centennial; John Heule, son of Tom and Lisa Heule Centennial; and Ryan Lilly, son of Jim and Terry Lilly, Centennial.
The youths have been Scouts together since they were Tiger Cubs, when they all attended St. Thomas More School. Today, they are high school seniors. Martinez attends J.K. Mullen High School and Ininns, Harpole, McLaren, Heule and Lilly attend Regis Jesuit High School.
