Jubiliarians celebrating 50 years of priesthood ordination

Father Robert Meznar
Ordained a priest in Denver on June 4, 1960, Father Meznar served in six parishes as a parochial vicar including Cure d’Ars Parish, Denver; St. John the Evangelist Parish, Loveland; St. Anthony of Padua Parish, Denver; St. Bernadette Parish, Lakewood; Church of the Risen Christ, Denver; and St. Catherine of Siena, Denver. When first appointed a pastor, it was to St. Peter the Apostle in Fleming, then to St. Peter Parish in Crook before returning to Denver to serve as pastor at St. Catherine of Siena in Denver from which he retired.
Father Patrick Rearden, O.P.
Father Rearden was ordained a priest of the Dominican order on June 4, 1960, in Dubuque, Iowa. Forty of his priestly years were dedicated to mission work in Bolivia. In La Paz he served as a high school teacher and seminary professor and in Cochabamba he founded a home for street children. He was the director of Centro San Martin de Porres, a charismatic center, where he celebrated Mass and ran youth programs. From the center Father Rearden would travel the country preaching to the many charismatic communities. He served as the national coordinator of Bolivia’s Catholic Charismatic Renewal. In 2001 he returned to the United States and was a member of the Dominican Missionary Preaching Team in Austin, Texas, for seven years before coming to Denver in 2008 where is he currently assigned to St. Dominic Parish.
