Catholic schools jump into spring fundraising

Well, it couldn’t very well be spring unless industrious students at the Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Denver were busy preparing for a variety of fundraisers. Historically, Catholic schools have always found new and innovative ways to help support themselves and generate interest in their schools. Below is a list of some of the events they hope you’ll want to come and support in the coming weeks.
Bishop Machebeuf High School
Grab your jeans, boots and cowboy hat for a rip-roaring good time at the annual Wild West Buffalo Ball to benefit Bishop Machebeuf High School. The Western-themed evening will consist of dinner and dancing as well as silent and live auctions. Special guest this year will be Bishop Walker Nickless of the Diocese of Sioux City and member of Machebeuf Class of 1965. The Buffalo Ball will be held April 17 at the National Western Complex, 4655 Humboldt St., Denver. Tickets are $65. For more information, call 303-344-0082 Ext. 22.
Holy Family High School
The Tiger Gala, the annual fundraiser to benefit Holy Family High School, will be held beginning at 5 p.m. April 17 at the Omni Interlocken Resort in Broomfield. Dinner, dancing, live and silent auctions are all part of this event to support tuition assistance. Tickets are $90 per person or a table of 10 for $700. For more information, call 303-410-1411.
St. Mary’s Academy Celebrate the spirit at “Moonlight Over Venice”, a benefit for St. Mary’s Academy. Cocktail hour, silent and live auctions and dinner are all part of the evening’s festivities. Items up for bid include a getaway weekend to Punta Mita, Mexico; dinner at Elway’s Restaurant and tickets for professional sporting events. St. Joseph, Fort Collins
Lace up your running shoes and come on out to the annual St. Joseph 5K Cougar Challenge April 30 at Fossil Creek Park in Fort Collins. The event, which benefits the school, is open to the entire community and participants may choose to run or walk the distance. There is a crawl for all preschoolers to take part in and lots of give-a-ways and other great prizes. Entry fee is $25. Call 970-337-8303 for time and directions.
Annunciation
An annual rite of spring, the Annunciation Spring Festival, will be held next month at the parish, 3536 Lafayette St. in Denver. Come partake of the games and music, try your hand at Bingo and sample delicious food. They’ll also have a raffle and rummage sale. This event is set from noon – 7 p.m. May 1. St. Catherine of Siena
It will be a beautiful night as St. Catherine of Siena School holds its annual Bella Notte, 6 p.m. May 1 at Regis University, 3333 Regis Blvd., Denver. The event, this year hosted by Channel 4 news anchor Jim Beneman, will include dinner, live and silent auctions with all proceeds to benefit the school. Tickets are $55 per person or $100 per couple. Presentation of Our Lady
Come enjoy a weekend of relaxation, games, food and prizes at Presentation of Our Lady School, 660 Julian St. in Denver next month. The fun kicks off with a carnival and chili cook-off on Friday. The carnival continues on Saturday, accompanied by a barbecue lunch, and that evening is the Taste of Presentation spaghetti dinner and wine tasting. Tickets for this part of the event are $25 a person, $40 per couple and will include admission to auction and dance. There will also be a raffle with a $10,000 first prize.
