Serran honored for service

On March 13 Denver Auxiliary Bishop James Conley celebrated Mass at Christ the King Chapel of the John Paul II Center in south Denver for the 60th anniversary of the Serra Club in the Denver Archdiocese.

The event was attended by Serrans representing clubs from across the archdiocese. Serrans from Colorado Springs attended as well.

At the reception following the Mass, Bishop Conley presented a statue of Blessed Junipero Serra to Gene Stienke. Stienke has been a dedicated Serran who has served in the ministry of promotion and affirmation of vocations for almost 50 years. Stienke is a member of the Denver Serra Club.
