Holy Family girls clinch third state title
It’s a three-peat for the lady Tigers as the Holy Family High School girls basketball team won their third consecutive state championship title March 13 by beating Colorado Springs Christian 45-29 at Moby Arena in Fort Collins. In a hard fought game that was closer than the score reflected, Holy Family ran away with the victory, and the Class 3A state title.
The Tigers, who lost just two seniors from last year’s team, came out looking for another title victory to present to coach Ron Rossi, and didn’t fail to deliver. Throughout the season, their motto was “BELI3VE.” For the team, there was the added sweetness of defeating the Lions, the only team to beat them during the regular season. Holy Family finished the season 26-1.
