The Archdiocese of Denver, in conjunction with the Colorado Catholic Conference - the public policy organization representing the Colorado bishops - and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is seeking to:
1. INFORM the Catholic community on issues surrounding immigration
**NEWS UPDATE: Senate Bill 1639 (formerly 1348) fails passage
"Secure Borders, Economic Opportunity, & Immigration Reform Act of 2007" (June 27, 2007)
Click here to read the USCCB's official statement. Despite the bill’s unfortunate failure, the USCCB will remain dedicated to a prayerful pursuit of comprehensive immigration reform. The Justice for Immigrants Campaign, though originally slated to end in 2007, will continue indefinitely in its mission to educate the Catholic community on the difficult issues involved in this heated debate, and to offer spiritual comfort to both the citizen and the immigrant among us.2. ACTIVATE Catholics, asking them to urge lawmakers to vote for comprehensive immigration reform
Contact your legislators!
