Gala raises nearly $340,000 to aid Catholic students
The Seeds of Hope Charitable Trust’s annual gala, Evening of Hope, was a tremendous success, with 380 guests attending the Nov. 13 event to help inner-city children attain a Catholic education.
Organizers said generous support from attendees enabled the trust to meet the Martin Family Foundation’s challenge grant to raise $50,000 from the “Fund the Mission” portion of the event, which assisted in bringing the gala’s fundraising total to nearly $340,000.
Former Seeds of Hope recipient Zeenat Schultz, a graduate of Bishop Machebeuf High School and current freshman at Colorado State University, inspired the audience by sharing how Catholic education aided her in overcoming adversity.
Keynote speaker Matthew Kelly motivated the guests to become the best version of themselves. “The remarkable turnout at Evening of Hope is a tribute to the Seeds of Hope mission of helping one student at a time—helping students like Zeenat to succeed” stated Executive Director Betsy Boudreau.
