New face heads archdiocesan office
The new director of Insurance and Risk Management for the Archdiocese of Denver is James Kreger. The native of Waterloo, Iowa, began his job in April after longtime director Rose Mary Nelson retired.
Previously, Kreger worked for Leprino Foods in Denver for 20 years where his duties include managing operations of the risk-control and insurance programs.
A graduate of St. Mary University in Winona, Minn, and Regis University in Denver, Kreger and his wife Nancy are members of St. Mary Parish in Littleton. The couple has two children. In his spare time, Kreger enjoys restoring old automobiles, but admits that he doesn’t devote as much time as he’d like to his hobby. He said he is enjoying working for the Denver Archdiocese.
“The overall atmosphere and the people I work with; it’s just the best,” he said.
