Seeds of Hope golf tourney nets $80,000
The annual golf tournament to benefit Seeds of Hope Charitable Trust was held at Lakewood Country Club on Aug. 10. Organizers said the tournament brought in $80,000.
“The tournament was a success in both the turnout of players and the generosity shown and given for Seeds of Hope students,” said Betsy Boudreau, executive director of the organization. “We had over 100 guests and more sponsorship dollars than in year’s past. It was a great event.”
Former Denver Bronco and member of the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame Randy Gradishar served as the honorary chairman. Other local personalities included former Bronco David Treadwell, former Congressman Bob Beauprez and Molly Hughes of CBS4.
Established in 1996, the mission of Seeds of Hope Charitable Trust is to make the benefits of Catholic education available to economically disadvantaged children of all faiths. Seeds of Hope is now offering New Volunteer orientations on the last Friday of each month. Volunteer opportunities include serving as ambassadors to mentor and tutor students in inner-city Catholic schools, helping to conduct school tours, assist with fundraising events and clerical assistance.
New Volunteer orientations will be held Aug. 28, Sept. 25 and Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the John Paul II Center, 1300 S. Steele St., Denver. For more information, call 303-715-3112.
