Benefit raises $30,000
Denver Catholic Register
More than 250 people attended the fifth annual Party, Peeps and Poker benefit, sponsored by Seeds of Hope Charitable Trust on June 12. The fundraising event was held at the RedLine Art Studio in Denver where attendees danced to a live orchestra, tried their luck in the poker tournament and bid on a wide selection of items in the silent auction.
Some of the donated items up for auction included sports memorabilia, overnight stays at fine hotels and a complete golf package at Cherry Creek Country Club. Seeds of Hope Executive Director Betsy Boudreau declared the evening an overwhelming success, saying the event brought in more than $30,000.
“It was, in a word, terrific,” Boudreau said. “And I can’t say enough about the venue. The people at RedLine did a wonderful job and everyone I talked to enjoyed themselves. It was a pleasure to see them come out and be a part of this event.”
Established in 1996, the mission of the Seeds of Hope Charitable Trust is to make the tremendous benefits of a Catholic education available to economically disadvantaged children of all faiths. Through tuition assistance, scholarships, vouchers, and grants for programs and technology, Seeds of Hope supports the Catholic elementary and high schools serving a low-income, high minority population concentrated in the inner city of Denver.
