Plethora of fundraisers provide critical funds to schools

In coming weeks, many Catholic schools will host their annual fundraising functions, which often include dinner and an auction. Some schools have already held their benefit events but the schools are always ready to talk to benefactors and alumni who can help them continue to provide quality Catholic education for children. Below is a partial list of some of the upcoming fundraisers.
Sacred Heart of Jesus
The 32nd annual Mayfair auction to benefit Sacred Heart of Jesus School, 1317 Mapleton Ave. in Boulder, will be held at 5 p.m. May 1. The theme is Viva Las Vegas and tickets are $35. The event includes dinner, raffles, silent and live auctions. Among the festivities are a Wheel of Fortune game and the chance to renew vows in the Chapel of Love with Elvis. St. James
St. James’ annual golf tournament is a fundraiser for the parish school. The event will consist of both 18 regulation holes as well as a round of mini golf and will be held at Kennedy Golf Course, 10500 E. Hampden Ave. in Aurora. It begins May 2 with 8 a.m. shotgun start for the main course, 9 a.m. for the mini course. St. Mary’s Academy
The annual gala Celebrate the Spirit is an evening of fun in which all the event proceeds go to the St. Mary’s Academy Tuition Assistance Fund. The gala consists of live and silent auctions and plenty of food and fellowship. Celebrate the Spirit will be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. May 2 at Palazzo Verdi, 6301 S. Presentation of Our Lady
The annual Pig Roast and Carnival to benefit Presentation of Our Lady Grade School, 660 Julian St. will take place next month. The carnival will be held from noon to 6 p.m. May 16 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 17. The pig roast will only be held on May 16. Come out for games and fun for the whole family and sample a delicious plate of carnitas or chicharrones, beans or rice, tortillas and salsa for $8. For more information, call 303-908-5464.
St. Therese
St. Therese School is holding its annual Community Festival, Garage Sale and Craft Fair from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 31. Great rides, games, cash raffle and all kinds of treasures will be for sale. For information, call 303-364-7494
St. Catherine of Siena
St. Catherine of Siena School’s annual festival will be held from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. June 5- 7 on the parish grounds at 4200 Federal Blvd. Come sample the delicious food, hear wonderful music and take a chance on the raffles, pickles or bingo. J.K. Mullen High School
J.K. Mullen High School will host its Governor’s Mansion Party, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on June 26. The event takes place in the garden of the Governor’s Mansion, 400 E. 8th Ave., for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Colorado first lady Jeannie Ritter is scheduled to be in attendance to conduct tours of the gardens and mansion. Tickets are $100 per person. Sts. Peter and Paul
A tuition benefit concert titled “A Journey through the History of Sacred Music,” will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 3900 Pierce St. in Wheat Ridge, 3 p.m. May 17. The concert is free but donations to benefit tuition assistance will be accepted. Tickets available by calling 303-424-3706.
