July 20, 2011 - Pope Benedict XVI has named Archbishop Charles J. Chaput O.F.M., Cap. as the 13th Bishop and 9th Archbishop of Philadelphia.

Archbishop Chaput will serve as Diocesan Administrator of the Archdiocese of Denver until he is installed as Archbishop of Philadelphia on September 8, 2011.

Archbishop Chaput's Corner

On July 29, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI named Archbishop Charles J. Chaput O.F.M., Cap. as the 13th Bishop and 9th Archbishop of Philadelphia. He was installed as Archbishop of Philadelphia on Thursday, September 8, 2011.

During his 14 years as Archbishop of Denver, this Corner offered key information about Archbishop Chaput -- a biography, a slideshow of his vocation, and his coat of arms. Most importantly, the pages brought the thoughts of the archbishop in his role as the main shepherd and teacher of the Catholic community in Northern Colorado. He spoke through his writings, public talks and homilies.
