Fasting and Operation Rice Bowl
An Operation Rice Bowl sits in the center of the table at a Catholic family’s home in Centreville, Va., Feb. 4. Coordinated by Catholic Relief Services, the nationwide Lenten program encourages participants to learn about hunger and poverty around the globe and then to make donations to help those most in need. Millions of U.S. Catholics this year will participate in Operation Rice Bowl. For free Operation Rice Bowl materials, check with your parish or visit online at crs.org.
