History: An estimated 20,000 households tune into the “Mass for Shut-Ins” each week. Included in this number are retirement communities, nursing homes and other group living situations, all of which account for a high number of individual watches.
A word from the Archbishop of Denver. Through this ministry, the Archdiocese of Denver seeks to provide the spiritual nourishment and community that they would otherwise lack, given their inability to physically attend Mass.”
Donate to the TV Mass: We know that many, if not most, of our viewers are homebound and physically unable to attend a Mass in their neighborhood parish. We also know that many of these same viewers, when physically able, were active and committed parishioners, serving tirelessly as lectors, Eucharistic ministers and other invaluable roles. This ministry is one of the last ways in which we can continue to celebrate with them, as one family, in the sacramental life of the Church, and to unite ourselves together in prayer for their needs. We know, too, that the broadcast is in need of continual improvement, and it is our hope that by securing lasting and ongoing funding sources, we will be able to provide our viewers with added features such as a longer, 60-minute Mass and Closed Captioning services.
