Thank you, Mr. President Thank you for keeping our Denver Catholic Register open to truth and objective opinions. I am especially impressed with George Weigel’s weekly contribution, which you so faithfully print. In the Jan. 14 issue, Weigel summarized some of the outstanding accomplishments of President Bush, which have been swept under the rug by the secularized, prejudiced mass media. May I add to his list that which has benefited us most at home and has been left unrecognized publicly, that is, that Bush’s policies have prevented this country from being bombed for the last seven and a half years—since 9/11. For American lives saved and property undamaged we must thank our much unfairly maligned president of two administrations, which can be equated in demanding answers to unprecedented problems equal to those faced by Lincoln. Thank you, President Bush. History will surely vindicate you and astonish posterity by the revelation of the incredibly un-American behavior with which this most recent presidential campaign has disgraced the true American spirit of fairness; “the end does not justify the means.” Theresita Polzin |
