If you hear the call to religious life…
Each year, many women hear the call to serve God’s people in the religious life. In the Archdiocese of Denver nearly three dozen religious orders are represented. Religious orders holding vocation events in the near future are list below.
Little Sisters of the Poor
The Little Sisters of the Poor hold regular holy hours on the second Tuesday of the Month at Mullen Home from 7:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. for those who are discerning God’s call. The evening consists of eucharistic Adoration, night prayer and Lectio Divina.
The sisters are also inviting single Catholic women to a special liturgy and luncheon set 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. on Jan. 31. The free event will highlight the vocation of women’s religious life within the Church. The day will include Mass, adoration, reconciliation and luncheon speaker, Father Thomas Carzon, O.M.V. Those wishing to attend are asked to R.S.V.P. by Jan. 29.

Benedictine Abbey of St. Walburga
The Abbey of St. Walburga is a community of Benedictine nuns located in northern Colorado. The abbey will be hosting a vocation retreat May 29-31 for women ages 19-35.More information about the abbey or the retreat may be obtained by calling Sister Immaculata Bertolli at 970-484-1887 or visit online at walburga.org. Dominican Sisters of the Congregation of St. Cecilia
The Dominican Sisters of the Congregation of St. Cecilia/Nashville, Tenn., will host a vocation night 4:30 p.m. Jan. 24. The sisters are located at 1550 S. Vine St. in Denver. The evening will begin with vespers followed by dinner and a discussion of religious life. Those wishing to attend are asked to R.S.V.P to Sister Gertrude Blankenhagen at 303-777-3812.
Religious Sisters of Alma, Mich.
Religious Sisters of Alma, Mich., will conduct a one-day retreat on Feb. 21 at Mother Cabrini Shrine, 20189 Cabrini Blvd., in Golden for women interested in the religious life, and a vocation retreat weekend Sept. 25-27 at the same location. Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles
The Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles are planning a retreat at their residence in Wheat Ridge at 4040 Pierce St. in February (exact date to be determined). Interested women are asked to call 303-422-6419.
