Family friendly entertainment available across the archdiocese this month

From holiday fairs to theater, there is plenty of family friendly entertainment available across the Archdiocese of Denver this month.
Open house
The fifth annual Christmas Open House at St. John the Baptist Parish, 323 Collyer St., Longmont, is set 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 3 in the gift shop. Come partake of the one-day specials, free drawings and refreshments. All proceeds will benefit parish food bank and outreach programs. Call 303-776-0737 for more information.
‘Scrooge’
Enjoy the classic musical holiday treat, “Scrooge,” presented at the Younger Generation Players Theatre, 2701 W. Oxford Ave., Englewood. Based on Charles Dickens “A Christmas Carol” the show will be presented the first two weekends in December. Tickets: $12. A musical revue, Spirit of the Season, precedes the show. Bazaar
Good Shepherd School, 620 Elizabeth St., Denver, will hold its annual holiday wreath sale and bazaar 9 a.m. -2 p.m. Dec. 6. Poinsettias and delicious baked goods will be on sale and many holiday vendors will have a wide selection of gifts and stocking stuffers.
Christmas Ultreya
The Denver Cursillo Movement at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 11385 Grant Drive, Northglenn, is inviting everyone to be part of Christmas Ultreya set 6:30 p.m. Dec. 6. All attending should bring one wrapped gift. Call 303-521-2284 for details.
Christmas Market
Handmade crafts, quilts, artwork and delicious baked goods will be available at the traditional Christmas Market at St. Martin de Porres Church, 3300 Table Mesa Drive, Boulder. A multi-parish Christmas concert will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 19099 E. Floyd Ave., Aurora, 7 p.m. Dec. 6. The concert will feature musicians from Our Lady of Loreto, Queen of Peace, St. Michael the Archangel and St. Thomas More parishes. The concert is free and refreshments will follow the presentation.
The Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary 3268 announce their 2008 Craft Fair to be held at the K of C Hall, 6910 York St., Denver. Come for crafts, door prizes and delicious treats. The fair will be held 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 6 and 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. Dec. 7.
St. Bernadette’s Church, 7240 W. 12th Ave., Lakewood, invites everyone to their Christmas boutique and bake sale. Shop for gifts, take a chance on the raffle and be prepared to sample some delightful cinnamon twists. The event will be held 1 p.m.-6 p.m. Dec. 6 and 8 a.m.-noon. Dec. 7
The annual Holiday Gift Fair will be held the first weekend in December at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Center, 898 14th St., Boulder. Proceeds will benefit nonprofit organizations such as People of Hope Crafts and the Women’s Bean Project. Delicious tamales and baked products will be available and handmade rosaries will be for sale. The fair will be held 3 p.m.- 7 p.m. Dec. 6 and 8 a.m.- 2 p.m. Dec. 7.
First Christmas festival at St. John the Evangelist Church, 1730 W. 12th St., Loveland, is set 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Dec. 6 and 7. There will be caroling, wagon rides and visits with Santa as well as crafts and snacks. Call 970-635-5800 for more information.

“A Wonderful Life,” the musical stage adaptation of the famed Frank Capra film is now on stage at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, 6901 Wadsworth Blvd., Arvada. Tickets start at $45. To purchase or for more information, call 720-898-7200.
