Advent Retreat Day

A one-day retreat, “The Sanctification of Time: An Advent Day of Recollection,” is set for Dec. 13 at the Abbey of St. Walburga in Virginia Dale.

In Advent we anticipate the coming of Christ at Christmas. The eternal God enters time, and time becomes holy. Treat yourself to a day away from the hustle and bustle in order to prepare for the God who waits for you. The retreat will be led by Benedictine nuns Sister Magdalena Berdlmaier and Sister Maria Josepha Hombrebueno. Cost: $35 per person, includes program and lunch. A pre-registration deposit is requested.

Retreatants are welcome to join the nuns for the Liturgy of the Hours. There may also be an opportunity to receive the sacrament of reconciliation (confession).

The Abbey of St. Walburga is located about 35 miles north of Fort Collins, 29 miles south of Laramie, on U.S. Highway 287.  The entrance road is on the west side of the highway, at mile marker 381, about four miles south of the Wyoming state line.
