Archdiocese of Denver Catholic Schools Calendar

Each year, the Office of Catholic Schools works in conjunction with the other school districts in the State of Colorado to determine various calendar dates for the upcoming school year.

2009-2010 School Year
Teachers new to the Archdiocese of Denver Catholic Schools are required to attend the "New Teacher Orientation/Induction" session at the beginning of each school year. For the 2009-2010 school year, the New Teacher Orientation/Induction session will be held on Friday, August 14, 2009 at St. James Catholic School located at 1250 Newport Street in Denver. The session will begin promptly at 8:00 am and should wrap up by 12:00 noon. Coffee and donuts will be provided for the AM session.

New teachers who have NOT attended an archdiocesan safe environment training session will then attend the Praesidium "Protecting God's Children" safe environment training session the afternoon of August 14th at St. James. This training session for new teachers to the Archdiocese of Denver Catholic Schools will begin promptly at 1:00 pm and should wrap up by 4:00 pm. Soda and water will be provided for the PM session.

General dates for the 2009-2010 school year include:

• August 24, 2009 - School begins
• September 7, 2009 - Labor Day Holiday
• November 26-27, 2009 - Thanksgiving Holiday
• December 21-31, 2009 - Christmas Break
• January 1, 2010 - Christmas Break
• January 18, 2010 - Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday
• February 15, 2010 - President's Day Holiday
• February 26-27, 2010 - Living the Catholic Faith Conference (schools closed on Friday, Feb. 26)
• March 15-19, 2010 - Spring Break
• April 2 and April 5, 2010 - Easter Break
• May 31, 2010 - Memorial Day Holiday
• June 3, 2010 - School Ends
