Worldwide Eucharistic adoration planned for June 2
Pope Francis is inviting all Catholics across the globe to join him in prayer.
According to the official website for the Year of Faith, on Sunday, June 2, 2013, "the Holy Father will preside over a special Eucharistic adoration that will extend at the same time all over the world involving the cathedrals and parishes in each diocese. For an hour, at 5pm (Rome time), the whole world will be united in prayer and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament."
June 2 is the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, a celebration of the centrality of the Eucharist in the life of the Church.
Due to the fact that the scheduled hour will coincide with Sunday Mass in most parishes across the United States, the US bishops have suggested holding a special hour of prayer at a more suitable time that day.
In the Archdiocese of Denver, all the faithful are invited to join in this special hour of prayer at 3:00 p.m. on June 2 at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 401 E Colfax Ave., Denver.
