David A. Holden, chief financial officer and director of the Office of Finance, Administration and Planning, 303-715-3258, has the administrative authority of the archbishop in all areas except those reserved specifically to the archbishop. As the archdiocesan chief financial officer, he is directly responsible for all fiscal management, including long-term planning, treasury operations and capital formation for all entities in the archdiocese. The CFO is the primary facilitator for the Archdiocesan Finance Council.

Controller

Joyce L. Talburt, C.P.A., 303-715-3181, is responsible for accounting policies, external financial reporting, internal management reporting, budget coordination, tax and government regulatory compliance, cash management and credit/collection procedures for archdiocesan operations and entities. The Controller is the primary facilitator for the Accounting and Investment Committees of the Finance Council.

Human Resources

Barbara Buchanan, director of Human Resources, 303-715-3193, is responsible for the management and administration of the group medical, dental, life and disability programs, retirement plans, employment administration, record-keeping, policy-making, compensation program management, and worker's compensation and safety in the workplace. As a service-oriented department, it is available to assist with technical support and expertise in the areas of employment benefits and compensation.

Information Systems

Michael McKee, director, 303-715-3299. This department provides services for various archdiocesan agencies in four areas:
1. Building Services provides building maintenance support for the Catholic Pastoral Center.
2. Computer Services provides support for PC (hardware and software) and mainframe systems.
3. Data Services provides support for data entry needs, computer report distribution and mailing list maintenance.
4. Support Services provides support for telephones, copiers, word-processing, office supplies and mailing requirements.

Parish Finance

Ernest W. Armstrong, C.P.A., director, 303-715-3120. The office provides guidance, technical assistance and consultation to pastors, parish business managers and finance committees on all related business matters, including accounting, internal control, budget and planning, capital project analysis and financing. Parish Finance is also responsible for monitoring the compliance of the Parish Financial Review Program. In addition, Parish Finance conducts financial investigations and reviews of parishes, calculates the parish assessment and ACA goals, assists the Revolving Fund Management Committee and the Catholic School Assistance Fund.

Construction

Walter E. Wostenberg, director of construction, 303-715-3251, is responsible for managing construction projects in the archdiocese, including assisting parishes and institutions in the development of new facilities and additions. The director also addresses parish issues related to planning for building projects, initial project master planning, zoning, economic development, site planning, urban design, construction process planning and land use. The department also manages the remodeling and maintenance of existing facilities. This director is the facilitator for the Project, Financing and Review Committee (PFRC) of the Finance Council.

Real Estate

Linda L. Bishop, director and attorney-at-law, 303-715-3194, is responsible for real estate purchases, sales, easements, planning, land use, zoning and development, leases, oil and gas matters, water issues, tax payments, applications for exemption on parish property, and the annual filing of exempt property tax reports. They also handle contract negotiations, preparation and review of real estate documents, coordination with title companies and other consultants, and review and processing of gifts of real property. The director is the facilitator for the Real Estate Commitee of the Finance Council.

Insurance and Risk Management

Rose Mary Nelson, CLU, CIC, director of Insurance and Risk Management, 303-715-3150, is involved in all areas of property and casualty insurance to all parishes, Catholic Charities and entities under the archdiocese. This includes claims administration, coordination of safety and loss control, risk management, environmental rules and regulations, funding of self-insurance programs and negotiation of insurance policies and coverages.

Administration

Caroline Rose, executive assistant, 303-715-3258, provides support to the chief financial officer and other personnel in the Office of Finance, Administration and Planning. Coordinates the various executive committees and board of director meetings and maintains all corporate record books. Coordinates and processes the liquidation of securities for archdiocesan parishes and other entities. Serves as liaison between the chief financial officer, his directors and internal staff, and provides general departmental information. This office also prepares annual reports from parish data and monitors inclusion in The Official Catholic Directory.

Camp St. Malo Retreat and Conference Center

Jose Ambrozic
is the Director of Camp St. Malo. The mission of this Retreat and Conference Center is guided by the teachings of the Catholic Church and her Second Vatican Council. Camp St. Malo provides, in the beauty of God's creation, a serene and contemplative setting for the spiritual growth, primarily for Catholic adults and families, as well as people of other religious traditions. Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Archdiocese of Denver Mortuary

Mike Wright is the Director of Mt. Olivet Cemetery. It serves the Archdiocese by overseeing the preparation of the deceased for burial, coordinating the sacred ritual and liturgy with parishes, arranging for the burial, tending to the personal needs unique to each family, keeping records, monitoring finances, maintaining the sacred grounds, ministering to the bereaved, and serving the poor in their time of need. St. Simeon Cemetery

Lloyd Swint is the Director of St. Simeon Cemetery. This is a new cemetery which is presently under construction in un-incorporated Arapahoe County. Located between Highway 30 and E470. Scheduled to be open in the early spring of 2004. For more information you can call 303 - 424 - 7785.
