Deacon Personnel

The Archbishop assigns deacons to particular appointments of service within the archdiocese according to the needs of the Church.  The ministry of deacons is a threefold, integrated ministry of charity, word and liturgy.  Each appointment is typically three years in duration and includes the naming of a pastor as the deacon's supervisor.  The faculties given to a deacon for his ministry can be found in the Archdiocesan Pastoral Handbook, Chapter 2 (parts 4 and 5) and Chapter 5.  Each deacon is required to perform continuing formation according to the Diaconate policy.  To find a deacon assigned within the Archdiocese of Denver, visit our Director of Deacon Personnel.
