Tony Melendez to perform in Greeley April 3 and 5
Armless guitarist Tony Melendez, who so moved Pope John Paul II by his performance in Los Angeles in 1987 that the pope kissed him in appreciation, will perform in Greeley April 3 and 5.
Melendez is an accomplished recording artist, producer and best-selling author who plays guitar with his feet and sings from his heart. He has been called "a gift of hope." His good humor, easy going laughter, self confidence and deep faith convey an amazing inner-wholeness and a deep humanity.
He has been featured on numerous television programs, including "The Today Show" and "Good Morning America." Melendez resides in Branson, Mo., where he stars in the award-winning variety show "The Tony Melendez Show: A Gift of Hope."
Melendez will perform 6:30 p.m. April 3 at St. Peter's Church, 915 12th St., and 7:30 p.m. April 5 at St. Mary's Church, 2222 23rd Ave. His performances will benefit the World Youth Day 2002 pilgrimage for Catholic youth from Greeley and Loveland, organizers said.
Ticket cost: adults $10, children 12 and under $5. Tickets are available at the church offices.
