Advent days of reflection at St. Malo center
Msgr. Dentici, Sister Goggin to lead presentations
Three day-long programs in preparation for Advent will be offered at St. Malo Retreat Center Dec. 3, 4 and 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Each day's program is the same.
St. Malo Center is located 12 miles south of Estes Park on Highway 7 near Allenspark, Colo.
Sister Ann Goggin, r.c., of Colorado Springs, will be the presenter with Msgr. Thomas Dentici, of Snowmass, as the celebrant for Mass.
The theme for the programs is "Advent Prayer in a Sober Time." Sister Goggin will give two talks per day, each followed by time for reflection. Her morning talk is called "Why Follow the Star" while the afternoon talk is called "Incarnation as a Way of Life." A celebration of the Eucharist will conclude each day. Msgr. Dentici also will hear confession during the reflection time.
Sister Goggin, a member of the Religious of the Cenacle, is the director of the Aquinas Ministry Formation Program, a joint lay ministry training program between the Diocese of Colorado Springs and Aquinas Institute in St. Louis. She has done extensive retreat work and holds M.Div. and D.Min. degrees from Weston School of Theology.
Msgr. Dentici is currently serving as interim administrator at St. Mary's Parish in Aspen. He was a parish priest in New Jersey and the Archdiocese of Denver before his retirement. He is a popular retreat presenter at St. Malo Center.
"We have known the pain of great loss and profound darkness this fall, and we long for peace without being sure what the path to peace looks like," Sister Goggin said. "These Advent days are a wonderful opportunity for us to come together and long for a new birth of God in our own midst."
Cost for the event is $25 and includes lunch. Lodging packages also are available. Pre-registration and pre-payment are required. Deadline to register is Friday, Nov. 30. For more information or to register, call 303-444-5177 or 970-586-6061 or register online at www.saintmalo.org.
